Used to (I used to do)
Npr. I used to play tennis a lot, but now I'm too lazy.
Do you go to the cinema very often? Not now, but I used to.
Takođe, ovu konstrukciju možemo upotrebljavati i za prošle situacije (stanje u prošlosti) koje više ne postoje:
We used to live in a small village but now we live in London.
This building is now a furniture shop. It used to be a cinema.
Upitna forma glasi: Did...use to...? (Did you use to eat a lot of sweets when you were a child?)
Negativna forma: didn't use to (Jack didn't use to go out very often until he met Jill.)
N.B. Ono što je važno je ne pomešati konstrukcije "I used to do" i "I am used to doing", jer su i njihove strukture i značenja različiti:
I used to live alone. (= I lived alone but I no longer live alone.)
I am used to living alone. (= I live alone and don't find it strange or new because I've been living alone for some time.)

Takođe, nemojte mešati ni "used to/didn't use to" (do sth)
ОдговориИзбришиsa "get used to" (doing sth), koje je po značenju identično konstrukciji "to be used to (doing sth).
E.g. Lola can't get used to living in the UK.
(She can't get accustomed to it . It is a
problem for her.)
